Good morning, Sterling Heights.
🚨 Crime
Officials in Sterling Heights—and other metro Detroit cities—warned CodeRed users that a nationwide cyberattack may have exposed names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, and passwords so users should check their accounts and update repeated passwords immediately.
🌲 Environment
Metro Detroit is preparing for a winter storm expected to bring 4 to 7 inches of snow, prompting local stores to stock shovels, ice melt and snowblowers—while county road commissions in Macomb, Oakland, Wayne and Washtenaw ready their crews—so residents can help neighbors who may need extra support.
🏥 Health
Macomb County Community Mental Health opened a new substance use engagement center in Sterling Heights at 38300 Van Dyke Avenue earlier this fall to help people in crisis with addiction by offering meals, showers, and recovery coaching as an alternative to jail and emergency care—allowing stays of up to 23 hours. Law enforcement, hospitals, and treatment providers have received updated information on the center to guide those in need.
