Renovations are underway at Lake St. Clair Metropark's North Marina (closed since 2019) as part of a $15 million makeover that will add nearly 80 boat slips, a new bathhouse and improved infrastructure. The project is expected to reopen by Memorial Day next year.

Sterlingfest returns this weekend in Sterling Heights with carnival rides, live music, food and an art fair now at Dodge Park for better flow. Admission is free and organizers expect nearly 150,000 visitors over three days.

The Gordie Howe International Bridge will open to vehicle traffic Monday with cyclist and pedestrian access planned for August, although residents noted no celebration in Michigan after a Canadian ceremony Friday. Officials have not set up a local event + some locals expressed disappointment.
