- ➤ A Chicago-based investment firm purchased Project BarFly, owner of HopCat, and will help expand the restaurant chain while keeping its focus on value-priced food in friendly neighborhood settings. HopCat, founded (in Grand Rapids in 2008), operates 12 restaurants in Michigan (including several in metro Detroit) and one in Lincoln, Nebraska. WXYZ
