  • The Federal Reserve is expected to announce its second interest rate cut of the year today. Financial expert Rick Boom said the change may not immediately lower mortgage and auto loan rates—Certificate of Deposit returns could decline and future adjustments may take time to reach consumers.  WXYZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Air traffic controllers at Detroit Metro held informational pickets on October 28 to warn that the government shutdown — which began on October 1 — has left them unpaid and raised stress that may affect air travel. They urged travelers to call lawmakers to help end the shutdown.  FOX 2 Detroit
