- ➤ Sterling Heights is proceeding with a new $10 million pickleball facility on Van Dyke Avenue near 15 Mile Road — the project will convert a 37,000-square-foot building into nine courts and other amenities. The city will host a community listening session from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Community Center, and the facility is expected to open in July 2026 — following a City Council vote of 6-1 amid some criticism over transparency. - ➤ Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido is moving ahead with plans for a child support specialty court at the 16th Circuit in Mount Clemens after a meeting with judicial officials on Sept. 4—aiming to improve compliance by linking with Michigan Works for job placements.
