- ➤ Last week the Macomb County Sheriff's Office executed search warrants at five locations including Sterling Heights and arrested four residents for allegedly operating an illegal gambling ring—seizing ten gambling machines, several vehicles, and over $17,000 in cash. FOX 2 Detroit
- ➤ Sheriff's deputies arrested four residents during raids at several sites in Macomb County last week for suspected illegal gambling operations, seizing machines, cash, and vehicles (with some held on a $10,000 bond and pending court dates). The Detroit News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Rep. Ron Robinson spoke before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor and Economic Opportunity in late July to support two grant proposals in Macomb County—one for a $250,000 grant to update Utica Police equipment and one for a $2.5 million grant to build a new odor-control facility that will help nearly 50,000 citizens and improve local safety. - ➤ On Aug. 6, Sterling Heights City Council approved a plan to create a full-color magazine called Sterling Heights Lifestyle.
