- ➤ A house fire in Macomb Township injured two firefighters Saturday afternoon when the blaze broke out on Balmoral Drive near Heydenreich and 21 Mile roads and crews from five neighboring communities helped while union leaders said unsafe staffing levels and extreme heat worsened the incident (no residents were injured). The Detroit News

- ➤ Beer from Yuengling, America's oldest operating brewery, arrived in Michigan on Monday after years of anticipation. The beer will be available at local bars, restaurants and stores by September 8 — perfectly timed for home football games. WXYZ
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Michigan increased by 10 cents since last week to an average of $3.23 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, while prices in metro Detroit rose 2 cents to $3.21, according to the American Automobile Association. Rates are still lower than last month and last year + the update reflects mixed regional pricing across the state. WXYZ
