Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 3rd of August.
Good morning, Sterling Heights.
🌲 Environment
Michigan extended its 10th air quality advisory this season as smoke from Canadian wildfires has made the air unhealthy and risks remain until Saturday.
Macomb County public works commissioner Candice Miller said breathing the smoke is unsafe for everyone & she urged U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra to push for stronger wildfire control.
🏥 Health
A Metro Detroit man died two years ago from a 7-Hydroxy overdose—a legal gas-station heroin noted for its high potency—and his family is now suing manufacturers and warning that legal does not mean safe.
Health officials are pushing for a nationwide ban and the DEA will review the recommendation soon.
