GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources is expanding its Hunters Feeding Michigan program that lets hunters donate their harvest to local food agencies through the Food Bank Council. Sterling Heights-based Deer Camp Coffee Roasting Company and Outfitters is selling coffee to raise funds — funds that will support processing and distribution — to help cover costs.  Sterling Heights Sentry
  • Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller sent a letter to state environmental officials after Oakland County released 1.2M gallons of raw sewage on April 3 along the Red Run Drain — she called for changes to separate stormwater from sanitary flow and build new retention basins to prevent future spills. Local officials said debris from the spill was found along nearby banks, fueling concerns over water quality.  WXYZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Barbara and Chester Bianco of Macomb Township said their dog Snickers died after receiving the arthritis injection Librela in April when she became lethargic, vomited, and had diarrhea, leading to her being put down. Nearly a year later, the couple shares their loss—hoping to alert other pet owners to possible adverse reactions.  WXYZ
