ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fire crews battled a large fire at an apartment complex near 27 Mile and Van Dyke in Washington Township Wednesday morning—assisted by the Macomb County Sheriff's Office on Stony Drive as an investigation began with no injuries reported. WXYZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Dorian Trevor Sykes is accused of robbing two banks in March (taking $10,169 from Credit Union One in Sterling Heights on March 6 and $3,400 from Chase in Lathrup Village on March 12) before fleeing in a rented Rolls-Royce near MGM Casino in Detroit as police continue their search for him. - ➤ Michael Southworth — a 31-year-old suspect from Chesterfield — was charged with seven felonies and one misdemeanor after he smashed a window at a Shelby Township gas station around 3:45 p.m., led police on a chase into Bruce Township where he was shot in the leg, and is now held on a $1 million bond at the Macomb County Jail. - ➤ On March 17th, Sterling Heights celebrated the 190th anniversary of Jefferson Township by showcasing local history with visits to historic sites such as the 1875 Saal home, the restored 1867 Upton House, and a Civil War cemetery—offering residents a glimpse of the city’s 19th century roots.
