Good morning, Sterling Heights.

Authorities arrested 24-year-old Deon Charleston Brooks of Warren on charges of a criminal enterprise for allegedly stealing high-end vehicles valued over $1 million from dealerships in Washington Township + a General Motors lot on 11 Mile, and he is scheduled to return to court later in March.

Macomb County police warn Shelby Township residents to be careful of door-to-door tree trimming scammers — a suspect without proper ID once tried to lure a homeowner out and then entered the home — and advise calling the non-emergency number to confirm a company's registration.

Sterling Heights will get about $1 million in federal funds to reimburse Medicaid patient transports and hire extra paramedics during busy hours.

The Fire Department plans to add four full-time staff by summer—using funds from House Bill 5696—so emergency response remains strong.
